Awards for outstanding achievements

in physics by the German Physical Society (DPG),
in maths by the German Mathematical Society (DMV), and
in computer science by the German Informatics Society (GI).

The Abitur is the German university entrance qualification, typically gained after 12 or 13 years of schooling (depending on the state).

School administrations can suggest students who have shown outstanding achievements in certain subjects (through their grades, extracurricular activities, etc.) to organizations like the DPG, DMV or GI. In return, these organizations send the school awards to be awarded during the graduation ceremony.

In addition to an interesting program, we participated in a small “competition”, where four randomly formed groups tried to create the most creative demonstrator for a selected task / topic.
